To celebrate 3 years of Conversant Traveller, we’re having a whole month of fab travel related GIVEAWAYS, just to say thanks for tagging along on our adventures. We certainly wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for YOU!
If you fancy a giggle you can have a read of our 3 year blog anniversary post. In time honoured CT fashion, it tells you about all the ridiculous searches people have typed into Google which led them to our blog. It was highly amusing last year (and also a bit worrying!), but this time I think it may be even better! Thankfully the searches for ‘ladies of the night’ in various parts of the world didn’t quite make the number 1 slot this year.
Or if you just want to skip to the free stuff, then read on my amigos.
The theme of our giveaway is WORLD MAP GIFTS…because who doesn’t love stuff with maps on? I’ll admit to being a little obsessed. Our house is full of things plastered in hemispheres, continents, tropics and poles. From bags and phones and to lampshades and even cushions, we have it all. You could say there’s a bit of a theme going on.
Anyway. we’ve picked up 4 brilliant world map gifts for you to get your hands on (and yes, they’re all things we have ourselves!). We’ll be running one giveaway at a time – make sure you bookmark this page so you can come back and enter them all.
How to enter the world map gifts giveaways
It’s really simple. Just use the Rafflecopter widgets to record your entries. All giveaways are open to a WORLDWIDE audience!
GIVEAWAY 1 – World Map Umbrella
Open: Sunday 21 August 2016
Ends: Monday 5 September 2016
This was my favourite world map gift this year, thanks mum! Living in the Lake District we’re used to rain, and never go anywhere without our waterproof jackets, even in the summer. When it comes to travelling, we’re reluctant to leave them behind, I guess they’re a bit of a safety blanket for us. Yet despite lugging them all over the world, we’ve never once used them. Sure, we’ve had bad weather on our trips, but it’s always been far too humid to want to wear a jacket. Which is where the umbrella comes in! Perfect for fending off the rain in hot countries, and being foldable, it takes up far less room than waterproof clothing and looks great too!
For a foldable umbrella, it’s actually pretty sturdy, not one of those flimsy things that turn inside out in a stiff breeze. I love using mine in the sun too, for a bit of shade from the intense heat of the day. Bonus!

GIVEAWAY 2 – World Map Laundry Bag
Open: Monday 5th September 2016
Closes: Monday 19th September 2016
My boss bought this world map gift for me for Christmas last year (how cool is she?!) and it’s been all over the world with us ever since. Because you DO need somewhere for your dirty undies, if you’re not into the whole ‘recycling’ pants thing (those days are long past us!). We also use the bags for packing footwear, clothes and toiletries, and love that they fold away in a neat little pouch when they’re not being used.

GIVEAWAY 3 – World Map Portable Charger
Open: Monday 19th September 2016
Closes: Monday 3rd October 2016
We often find ourselves in places without wall sockets, and sometimes even electricity. Like the desert! So having a portable charger for our phones is essential when we’re away. I love this one from Paperchase which is only 66g and of course has a world map on it. So cool. It’s compatible with micro USB, android and iPhone 5/5s/5c/6.

GIVEAWAY 4 – World Map Makeup Bag
Open: Monday 3rd October 2016
Closes: Monday 17th October 2016
Ok, so this cute little world map gift is actually a pencil case, but with 3 compartments I use mine as a make up bag. It has the same vintage map design as the portable charger, and the middle pocket has a zip to keep little bits and bobs safe.

My husband and my son would love the umbrella, it’s really cool, fingers crossed.
Every where1 Morocco looks fantastic but I wouldn’t dare go everywhere seems so dangerous these days it’s so sad.
I find it sad that people think Morocco is any more dangerous than anywhere else in the world that we all travel to regularly. Morocco is in fact one of the countries I’ve felt the safest in, and have written about whether it is safe to travel to Morocco here. Hope it changes your mind! http://www.conversanttraveller.com/is-it-safe-to-travel-to-morocco/
Wales, it rains a lot there and I haven’t ben there for ages.
To Dublin. My friend says it rains there constantly.
Just like you I love maps of the world 🙂 As a child I used to sit with my dad’s Reader’s Digest Atlas looking for the deepest parts of the oceans and the highest mountains.
These items are really lovely. We love weekends away in the UK so the umbrella would definitely get plenty of use. Our next trip will be the Highlands of Scotland.
What lovely memories, it’s moments like that which last a lifetime. I had a similar childhood experience and it led me to study geography at uni! Enjoy the Highlands, lovely part of the world!
We are going to Suffolk next month for a long weekend, it will no doubt be umbrella weather by then!
I would take my umbrella to Singapore to visit my dad – it rains almost every afternoon there!

Australia
I would use here in Northern Ireland as it always raining.
The next place we’re visiting is on a short break to Wales so it would be perfect, we always get at least 1 day of rain!
We are hoping to do a tour of southern Ireland I’m sure it will be of use there!
Ooh, I’d love to visit Ireland, hope it doesn’t rain for you too much!
I’d take it to Madeira, it doesn’t rain much but when it does it’s torrential!
I’d love to take the brolly on a camper van trip all around Scotland.
I would take the umbrella on visits to the Highlands
Id take it to cornwall
Even the sunniest place in the UK sometimes has a bit a of the wet stuff!
I’m off to Thailand in 10days… Definitely think this umbrella would come in handy there!!
Yeah, it’s the rainy season at the moment (but at least things will be a bit cheaper).
In an ideal world I would take the laundry bags to Hawaii however as I am terrified of flying and have two very young children think it will be more like Disneyland Paris!!!! I think it’s actually cheaper to get to Hawaii lol
Disneyland will be a good second choice 😉 Though you’re probably right it would be cheaper to go to Hawaii!
The Lake District
Yep, you’d definitely get some use out of it here!
Visiting any British city
We camp a lot in the UK so I would take it with me everywhere!!! Also I am a TA so this would be cool for my playground duty in the rain!
Ha ha, it would be great to inspire the kids to travel!
I’d take it on our annual Dorset holiday – if there’s one thing you can rely on it’s the rainy days 🙂
Laundry bag is a thing I am in need of. Also would be great for use when on holiday/s.

Yep, us too! 🙂 It just seems to know doesn’t it!
Edinburgh
I’d take it to Wales for a long weekend!
I would take it to the caravan when we next go. It usually rains at some point.
I’d take it to Canada
I wouldn’t need to take it on holiday, as it would get plenty use in ‘sunny’ Scotland!
Would take it everywhere in England, after all we need it here.
Such a cute idea! I’ve been eyeing that umbrella for a while, but just can’t find something as good as this one in the States! Congrats on three years. 🙂
Japan I have always wanted to visit and it’s on my bucket list. I could use my umbrella in the rain or on a sunny day as Japanese women look after their skin
Umbrellas and Japan go well together I think. Hope you get to go there soon.
I’ve really been wanting to explore Ireland – could come in handy for thoserainy days… 🙂
I would take the brolly to the Lake District because I have ruined two there already -I need a better quality brolly and I think this would be the one

i will take it on my honeymoon next year 🙂
Oooh, hope you’re going somewhere nice!
Trinidad bird watching in the rain forest
Wow, that sounds amazing!
Love that umbrella! I always end up buying souvenir umbrellas which never last beyond the journey home! We’re off to the Pacific North West next year…I hear it always rains in Seattle so this brolly would be perfect!
It’s lovely isn’t it, especially the colour. We have a draw full of souvenir umbrellas too (that never get used because they’re so flimsy). Enjoy Seattle!
Congratulations on 3 years. I would take it with me when we go wales as it always rains.
It does doesn’t it! Great choice.
I would take it to Mid Wales with us
I would take the umbrella to Scotland. If it isn’t raining there, it must be snowing. ☔️
Ha ha, so true!
I would take my umbrella to lake district, yorkshire or derbyshire. Keep it in this country.
I’ve used in all 3 so definitely recommend it, great choice!
Oh gosh! I love the ideas of world map items. If I were to take it on holiday, it’d have to be to rainy Seattle (a place I love!) or definitely use when I go back to the UK. I’d love a bit of colour in the rain
Sounds perfect! You’d definitely stand out in the city with one of these 🙂
Congrats on the 3 year blog anniversary and awesome giveaways!! Here’s to more years filled with amazing adventures and marvelous memories!
Ahh, thanks Stephanie!
