The theme of our giveaway is WORLD MAP GIFTS…because who doesn’t love stuff with maps on? I’ll admit to being a little obsessed. Our house is full of things plastered in hemispheres, continents, tropics and poles. From bags and phones and to lampshades and even cushions, we have it all. You could say there’s a bit of a theme going on.

This was my favourite world map gift this year, thanks mum! Living in the Lake District we’re used to rain, and never go anywhere without our waterproof jackets, even in the summer. When it comes to travelling, we’re reluctant to leave them behind, I guess they’re a bit of a safety blanket for us. Yet despite lugging them all over the world, we’ve never once used them. Sure, we’ve had bad weather on our trips, but it’s always been far too humid to want to wear a jacket. Which is where the umbrella comes in! Perfect for fending off the rain in hot countries, and being foldable, it takes up far less room than waterproof clothing and looks great too!
For a foldable umbrella, it’s actually pretty sturdy, not one of those flimsy things that turn inside out in a stiff breeze. I love using mine in the sun too, for a bit of shade from the intense heat of the day. Bonus!

My boss bought this world map gift for me for Christmas last year (how cool is she?!) and it’s been all over the world with us ever since. Because you DO need somewhere for your dirty undies, if you’re not into the whole ‘recycling’ pants thing (those days are long past us!). We also use the bags for packing footwear, clothes and toiletries, and love that they fold away in a neat little pouch when they’re not being used.

We often find ourselves in places without wall sockets, and sometimes even electricity. Like the desert! So having a portable charger for our phones is essential when we’re away. Just like you I love maps of the world 🙂 As a child I used to sit with my dad’s Reader’s Digest Atlas looking for the deepest parts of the oceans and the highest mountains.
These items are really lovely. We love weekends away in the UK so the umbrella would definitely get plenty of use. Our next trip will be the Highlands of Scotland.
What lovely memories, it’s moments like that which last a lifetime. I had a similar childhood experience and it led me to study geography at uni! Enjoy the Highlands, lovely part of the world!

Love that umbrella! I always end up buying souvenir umbrellas which never last beyond the journey home! We’re off to the Pacific North West next year…I hear it always rains in Seattle so this brolly would be perfect!
