Road trips are great fun and something everyone should do within their lifetime. Instead of staying in one place on your breakaway, when heading on a road trip, you’ll get to see multiple destinations and save some money at the same time. Road trips also offer plenty of flexibility and it’s something new to do!
We’re lucky enough to live in a time where you can easily rent a car and hop from city to city. And with lots of travel apps available, you can book your accommodation on the day, meaning you can explore and if you don’t like a destination, you can simply leave and drive to the next place – on a city break, you can’t move on as easily.
So, what are the must-haves when going on a road trip? To start with, you should download many games on your phone to enjoy while you are on the road. Snacks are a must as well as a playlist to get you excited. Keep on reading our guide of must-haves when on a road trip.
Games
You can’t be ready to set off on a road trip if you haven’t downloaded some games on your phone, tablet or laptop to enjoy. Whilst in the car, there will be times when you just want to relax and play a game of solitaire, Candy Crush or chess to pass the time. By downloading them before you go, you can ensure they work if your signal isn’t good enough. It’s also worth remembering a charger that you can plug into the car on the journey so that you don’t drain your battery power on the go – games can take up a lot of your power, demanding on how labour intensive on the device they are.
Playlist
It goes without saying, a playlist is a must on any road trip! Before setting out, give yourself an hour to put together a banging Spotify or Apple Play that you can sing to when on the road. Include some new songs in the charts as well as some classics that you can sing at the top of your voice. When you’ve been in the car for a while, having a playlist to put up can quickly lift up the mood.
Snacks
Crisps, sweets, chocolate, you are going to need it all whilst on your adventure. Make sure you stock up with your favourite bags of sweets and favourite chocolate bars for when you are feeling a little peckish on the journey. When you are abroad, it’s great fun going into supermarkets to pick your snacks as they can be so different from what you get at home – Haribo is always different and tastes different as well!
